WHAT IS THE SHELF LIFE OF MY CHOCOLATE?


The shelf life is ideally 10-14 days. These are to be savored and not stashed. The fresher the chocolate, the more delicious it will be!
One consideration, when packaged together certain flavors like to lend their essence to those around them. Peppermint Patties and anything Mocha are the worst; they will flavor those around them. Additionally, chocolates with certain oils, like lemon and orange oil will fade over time.




HOW SHOULD I STORE MY CHOCOLATE?


Keep your chocolates in a cool, dry place, and away from strong scents. Refrigeration isn’t necessary and will not extend the shelf life. When you place chocolate in the refrigerator, it begins to condensate and encourages the sugar to bloom on the surface of the chocolate, making it white-ish and spotty, also giving it a mealy, grainy texture. Chocolate is most comfortable at 65 to 68 degrees.




I HAVE ALLERGIES. CAN I STILL EAT YOUR CHOCOLATE?


NUTS: We use peanuts, pistachios, almonds, pecans, hazelnuts, walnuts, brazil nuts & cashews. We try our very best to keep the nuts separate from each other and from the chocolate (unless intended to mingle). If you are severely allergic to any nuts, we suggest that you refrain from eating our chocolates. We can not guarantee that cross contamination hasn’t occured. DAIRY:
Although dark chocolate is naturally dairty free, we use fresh cream in our truffles; cream, half & half and butter in our caramel; and butter in our toffee and peppermint patties. That being said, we have many vegan/dairy-free chocolates options! When you look through our gallery of chocolates we have noted whether they are vegan/dairy-free.

GLUTEN: Almost all of our chocolates are gluten-free. We do make some chocolate/caramel-covered pretzels, and very occasionally cookies to be laced with chocolate, but these are seasoal specials. SOY: We do not have soy in our chocolate base. While most chocolate makers use soy-lecithin as an emulsifier, our provider uses a sunflower alternative. If you have a soy allergy, you should not eat any of our recipes containing almonds. Our almonds are all tamari almonds, almonds roased in a soy based sauce, which provides a mild saltiness.




DO YOU OFFER DISCOUNTS?


We offer discounts for large orders. Please call 802-877-0087 and talk with Jen. Due to the fact that we are a very small shop we have our limits to fill large orders on short notice. No discounts are available on large orders if they are due in short order. During most of the year we need at least 2 weeks notice for more then 20 boxes and near holidays we need at least 3 weeks notice for you to be eligible to receive a discount.




HOW DO I ORDER?


We are currently working on setting up our e-commerce here on this website. Until then, please try one of these alternatives: Please call or email us to order a custom selection of any of our chocolates! From one piece to multiple pounds, we will be happy to accommodate your special requests whenever possible! Our chocolate is priced by weight at $31.00 a pound. You are welcome to purchase by weight, or by the piece. Check out our Menu page for photos and descriptions of our standard menu of chocolates. Weoften have some seasonal specialties, so please be sure to ask! If you are looking to order online head over to our Etsy Shop! We do offer discounts for large orders and we are happy to talk with you about special chocolates for your business gifts, wedding or special occasion chocolates.




WHAT ARE YOUR SHIPPINGS RATES AND POLICIES?


Orders are shipped via USPS and transit times vary depending on destination. Most of our shipments get to their destination within 1-3 days.

Our shipping and handling rates are standardized and are as follows.

0-.99 pounds is $7.50
1-1.99 pounds is $10
2-2.99 pounds is $13
3-4.99 pounds is $20
over 5 pounds please ask for a quote, it is based on actual weight,
destination, and a $5 handling/packing charge. These rates are not subject to discounts.
Our chocolates are fragile, they begin to melt at 72°F. Starting May 1, we will add a $5.00 warm weather shipping fee to all orders until October 31. During these hot times anywhere outside of New England we ship over-night USPS and Priority within New England. Chocolate can’t take the heat. November 1 – April 30 we ship packages Priority USPS.
We track all packages but once the package leaves our shop we can no longer guarantee it’s safety. We do everything we can to get it to you in the best shape possible (which is normally perfect) but there are things we cannot control.
Orders are normally shipped Tuesday-Thursday unless other arrangements are made. We do not ship to international destinations. Orders that can be filled and are received before 1:30pm will be shipped the same day. All others will be shipped base on product availability and destination. If the destination city's temperature is more than 70 degrees and you are sending to someone other than yourself, we highly recommend sending it Over Night, we are not responsible if the chocolates arrive melted and this is the safest bet. If you are buying for yourself and have chosen 2nd Day Air, we are not responsible if the chocolates arrive melted and will not offer any refund.
We are not responsible for delays caused by the shipping agent or due to weather or mechanical error and are not able to offer refunds for those reasons.




CAN I SEND CHOCOLATE SOMEWHERE WARM?


YES! Keep in mind thouhgh, our chocolates are fragile, they begin to melt at 72°F. Starting May 1, we add a $5.00 warm weather shipping fee to all orders until October 31. Heat wrap and an icepack will be added when traveling outside of New England. November 1 – April 30 we ship packages Priority USPS.




HOW DO I PURCHASE/REDEEM A GIFT CERTIFICATE?


To purchase a gift certificate, you may do one of two things: - Stop into our Green Street Store, and purcahse a hard copy in any denomiation. OR -Visit our ETSY shop to purcahse a virtual gift card, which will be sent via email as a PDF. To redeem your gift certificate: - Stop by our Green Street location and select your chocolates in person! Please bring your certificate with you. OR - If you recieved a PDF certifiate via email, please call us to make your selections. Please have your gift certificate standing by. Vermont state law states your gift certificate is valid for no less than five years from it's date of purcahse.




WHAT ARE YOUR COVID-19 HOURS/POLICES/ETC...?


Due to the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic, Daily Chocolate still remains closed to the public, with reduced its hours of operation. That being said, we are eager to help fill your chocolate cravings during these difficult times. We know what a good piece of chocolate can do for your mood! - Daily Chocolate will be operational on Monday and Thursday only. - Orders may still be placed any day by email, phone, or via Etsy. - Orders will be processed and packed on Mondays and Thursdays only. - Orders will ship, or can picked up curbside on Mondays and Thursdays only. We're a small operation year round, and operate full speed with only three employees. During these crazy times, Christina and Dawn are taking a break, and owner Jen is running the ship! In an effort to keep everyone healthy, the chocolate will be made, processed and shipped by only Jen. Curbside pickups will be executed from a table in the lobby, and all transactions will happen via credit card prior to pickup so, no need to exchange cash or plastic hand-to-hand. Last, we will continue to uphold the high food safety standards that we maintain all year. This includes proper food handling, labeling and storage. - of course, use of gloves, masks ...all with a whole lot of EXTRA sanitizing along the way.
